Meet the Team

Jessica — Scheduling Coordinator jessica

Jessica joined our team in May 2017 as Scheduling Coordinator, and has the important role of keeping our daily schedule running smoothly and on time. Jessica has been in the dental field for over 15 years. She started her career in 2004 as a registered dental assistant. With her passion for learning and helping people, Jessica went back to school in 2011 to the University of Washington. She graduated from the Healthcare Leadership program to better help and understand her patients. Outside of the office, Jessica keeps busy with the activities of her husband and two children, and enjoys time recreating with big family camping trips at Banks Lake.

Heather — Financial Coordinator heather

Heather joined our front office team in May 2013, and specializes in handling and processing insurance claims and questions. With 11 years of front office experience, Heather's confidence, efficiency, and "can-do" positive attitude is greatly appreciated by our team and patients alike. What Heather loves about dentistry is the opportunity to build trust with patients over time, while helping patients to get and stay dentally healthy. She also loves to see the final result of our cosmetic cases, getting to celebrate the “confidence booster” experienced by patients when they feel proud of their smile. Heather enjoys time out of the office with her husband and Husky “dog-child”, being outside, traveling and spending time with her family.

Renee — Hygienist renee

Renee has been with the practice for over 23 years. After working with both Dr. Surbeck and Dr. Egger as an assistant for many years, she returned to school attending Yakima Community College, and completing her Dental Hygiene degree in 2009. Her previous experiences as an assistant, as well as her excellent hygiene skills, have made her an invaluable asset to the practice. Staff and patients alike appreciate her straightforward approach to dentistry, her quick wit, and infectious laugh. Renee’ spends her free time enjoying her adult children and grandchild, golfing, and trips to visit family and friends in Idaho and Arizona.

Jami — Hygienistjami

We were pleased to welcome Jami as part of our hygiene team in October 2013! Like Renee, Jami spent 14 years as an assistant before attending Pierce College's Dental Hygiene program and becoming a hygienist in 2013. Jami is a thoughtful practitioner, demonstrating compassion to her patients while aiming to help them achieve optimal oral health. Outside of the office, Jami enjoys time hiking, jogging, camping, traveling with her family, and keeping up with the activities of her son and daughter.

Julie — Hygienist Julie

Julie has been a dental hygienist for 14 years, graduating from Shoreline Community College’s Dental Hygiene program in 2005. Julie’s passion for dentistry exists in the relationships she’s built with her patients through the years, as she finds joy in connecting with patients while working towards the common goal of establishing optimum oral health. Her calm demeanor and gentle touch are appreciated especially by those who may have dental anxiety. Outside of the office, Julie and her husband keep busy following the activities of their two boys, including soccer games, church, and taekwondo.

Shannon — Hygienist Shannon

Shannon graduated from Shoreline Community College’s Dental Hygiene program in 1999, and began working as a hygienist in this practice for her father, Dr. Henry Surbeck, that same year. Shannon has enjoyed connecting with long-time patients over the past 20 years, though her number of working days has fluctuated greatly as she and her husband, Dr. Graham Egger, welcomed four daughters into their family. Shannon wears a few different "hats" in the office, helping with bookkeeping and marketing, as well as working one day a week as a hygienist. When away from work, Shannon’s time is spent carpooling kids to school and extracurricular activities, going to Bible Study, and planning the next family adventure!

Kathryn — Assistant kathryn

Kathryn joined our team in August 2017, bringing an amazing skill set and attention to detail which has elevated our whole our assisting department. Kathryn graduated from Renton Technical College in 2010, and boasts over five years of chairside experience, after a small hiatus she took while working as a pastry chef. Kathryn loves to build relationships with patients, easing anxiety through laughter, teaching, and compassion. She genuinely loves to witness patient's confidence build as their smile transforms. When out of the office, you can find Kathryn still baking macaroons at a local bakery, participating in karaoke competitions (and doing very well!), traveling, working out at the gym, shooting pool, predicting plot twists in shows, mario kart with good friends and hanging out with her pups!

Courtneycourtney

We were delighted to welcome Courtney to our team in May 2018, adding another amazingly experienced and talented assistant to our restorative team! Graduating from Renton Technical College in 2011 (just a year after Kathryn), Courtney spent the last six years working chair side with one of her instructors from school in Seattle. Courtney not only brings excellent clinical skills, but she also puts patients at ease with her fun, relaxed personality and confident handling of each appointment. She is also a great teammate, as she is always looking to be busy and help her co-workers, which results in smoother and more efficient appointments for our patients. Courtney grew up in Des Moines, but just recently moved to Bonney Lake with her husband, tuxedo cat, Riley and ferrets. In her free time, Courtney enjoys spending time with family and friends, or doing outdoor activities like hiking, water sports, fishing, archery and a little dirt biking.

Josiejosie

Josie joined our team in May 2018 just after completing her schooling at Bates Technical College in Tacoma. She started out working as our Sterilization Technician, but quickly advanced to a chair side position. Josie's sweet nature and extremely calm demeanor help even the most anxious patients to relax and even enjoy their time in the restorative chair. We appreciate how Josie quietly but consistently tends to the needs in the sterilization center and treatment rooms to keep our back office running smoothly, helping our patients to have the best dental experience we can deliver. Josie grew up in Wenatchee, graduating from Wenatchee High School and then moving to Tacoma to further her education in assisting. Outside of the office, Josie enjoys hiking, biking, being at the beach, fishing and four-wheeling.
